Dependent passes are available for immediate family members (spouse, children, parents, and parents-in-law) of students pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher.
For all postgraduate students, as well as undergraduate students from the 17 eligible countries (listed below), dependent passes for spouses, children, parents, and parents-in-law are granted with a Long Term Social Visit Pass (LTSVP). These passes are valid for up to 12 months, as long as the student’s pass remains valid.
Eligible countries for undergraduate students: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE, Turkey, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Palestinian Territories, Kuwait, Yemen, Iran, Syria, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Libya, and the Maldives.
For international students under the age of 18, dependent passes can be issued for both parents with a Long Term Social Visit Pass (LTSVP), valid for up to 12 months, contingent on the student’s pass validity.
Children under 18 years old are allowed to reside and study in Malaysia under a dependent pass. However, those aged 18 and above must apply for their own student pass if they wish to continue studying in Malaysia.
